The bank representative from Banamex who helped us open our bank account needed me to re-sign some documents. Tip* when signing your passport make sure you sign it the way you always do your signature. Duh, right! I signed it with my full complete name and I usually always sign official docs with my first and last only. So of course my firma did not match my passport. This is actually the 2nd time I have had to resign the Banamex documents, and the rep has had to come to my house both times now. I find that a bit bazaar, don't you? A bank employee just showing up at your home to sign some documents. Talk about being thorough and great customer service.

An Unusual Visitor
Last night around 8pm we had a knock at the door. It was way to late for the fruit vendor, pan man or any other street vendor. Guess it was for JJ is what I thought, until I heard JJ calling me to come to the door because the "bank" was here. What the....

ATM Card Snatcher
My hun bun asked me yesterday to join him for lunch at a new cafe I have been eye-balling in centro. Sweet, no? How could I refuse. So around noon we headed out, first stop was the bank, we needed some loot. He realizes he doesn't have our bank debit card, he looks at me as if I have it. I shuffle through our wallets, BTW he absolutely hates when i go through his wallet. NOTHING! Oh Shit!!! We travel home, nothing. He just pulled some $$ out the night before at Costcos ATM, we head over there just to check if maybe someone turned it in...hey, you never know!NADA. And I really need to mention that just the day before I called one of our banks to have another debit card issued because we lost that one a few months ago. Its almost as if I set this all in motion by doing that.
So moving on. While at Costco and trying to determine if our card was tucked in a drawer somewhere, honey decided to check our Banamex bank account balance at the ATM machine. The same machine that he was last at. We hardly use that account so guess who forgot his pin #. Yup that machine has it out for us. It sucked the card in and wouldn't spit it out. Can you believe it.
Quick recap on our situation- All of our income is earned in the US through variousInternet business that we are capable of running remotely here in MX. Thus, all of our income flows through our US bank accounts and we debit from an ATM as needed. No debit card ='s NO dinero. Well no dinero conveniently anyway. We decided we better check with our bank here which is Banamex, for wire txfr instructions/information.
After an hour at the bank and finding out that we needed to open a new account, (See about whats needed to open a bank account in MX below) we returned home reported our debit cards lost and had new ones issued AGAIN. pheww . What a day. Weve been laughing about it ever since.
