Recycling Reduce Reuse

Karen, Leah and Diana working on the stem of the flower sculpture

So one of the things I love about the kids school, Ameyali, is that it strives to be green in a country that has been left behind it sometimes seems. I actually miss having our 3 yellow recycle bins that contained either plastics, cardboard, glass or cans back in Oregon. And well, since you dont have the privlage of free garbabge service in the US like you do here in Mexico it kept our garbage bill down.

Back the original idea of this post and that was to share Leahs end of the year art project at school. Her class was divided into groups and each one had to come up with a sculpture to be made up using recycled items. She is part of a group that is constructing a sculpture made of plastic soda bottles and yesterday she invited her "team" over to the house to work on it.

Her group is making a flower and the photo shows them working on the stem of the giant plastic flower.
