Crafting Updates

LAST Saturday was my most successful day at the Puerto Vallarta Farmers Market. I sold EVREYTHING! I was even taking orders and making them right there on the spot. And because of everyones great success at the market a group of girls went out for "imported" beers. A girl beer party...so much fun!I'll have to get the name of the place and update the post later.

So this week I tried crafting some new items to bring to the market and wanted to share what I put together.

Oh and if you were wondering...I did great today and had sooo soo much fun!

Book Thongs and Felt Things by Mmwa

Do you recall last weekend I attended the new Puerto Vallartas Farmers Market with the girls? Well, starting today I will be selling hand crafted items by mwa.

I inquired about being a vendor and selling my "Book Thongs" which are glorified book marks. Isnt that name too cute? I have to say, they do make any book look fabulous. I also wanted to sell felt gift bags, baskets and little felt critters and creatures.

Well, I found out on Wednesday that I could sell my items on the coming Saturday (Today). OMG is right. .I was quick to get started on production. I had some felt laying around the house, went to the local fabric store Parasinas, (which is also Mexicos fabric chain store sort of like Micheal's in "Gringo-landia) to get some additonal supplies and also the bead store. All day Wed Thur and Friday I was crafting away. Well, between getting kids to school, lessons in the evening, house caring and necessary daily things. I couldn't neglect the Fam-Bam...

But I have to say that all of that work paid off, since I sold most everything. I had two book thongs left, 1 felt gift bag and 3 felt critters. Looks like I found a new hobbie in Vallarta.

My friend Sara came to help

Saturday Breakfast & Farmers Market

My Puerto Vallarta Peeps! Sara with her daughter Renta & her nephew, me and Maritza

So this past weekend I got together with my PV peeps over breakfast at again
View Larger Map">Haciendas (I'm hooked on this place and I cant believe I have never been there before!) The two times I have been, I actually had the same thing - red chiliquiles con huevos - mmm mmm good! Below is the outside of the restaurant I have become a regular at now!

After breakfast we decided to check out a new Farmers Market in "Old Town" Puerto Vallarta. It was great. Small in scale from what I am use to back home. Portland Oregon has the most amazing Saturday Market! Anyways, back to PV's market. Lots of food vendors selling various, jams, breads, deserts and let me not forget th pickle booth. Both dill and bread and butter pickles. I know this sounds odd but a good pickle is hard to come by here in Puerto Vallarta, plus if you find an imported jar you will be paying top dollar for those crispy cucumbers! So I did pick up a small container of bread and butter pickles for 30 pesos while Maritza went for the dill pickles.

There were also a few craft booths but really is not the focus of this market. The space is limited too , they have done a good job at organzing it all. I had such a great weekend!
